This is a cross-district collaboration that involves partnerships among teachers, students, and community members in UCI, Anaheim Union High School District, and Irvine Unified School District.
The project aims to explore transdisciplinary and justice-centered teaching of climate education. Transdisciplinary collaboration integrates multiple knowledge systems to solve real-world complex issues, and justice-centered teaching helps students critically understand why climate issues disproportionately impact certain communities. Students are positioned as change agents and work with their communities to build a more equitable, just, and sustainable future.
